Yes, there is a short safety bar that comes with it that you can add at a later date.

Yes it does and it almost covers half of the length of the side of the bed

Does it come with a safety rail for the toddler bed so the child doesnt fall out?

This crib is good for mothers of all sizes.

The mattress is height adjustable to three heights:

From bottom to first height: 11-1/2"

From bottom to second height: 14-1/2"

From bottom to third height: 21-1/2"

This is a very sturdy crib and we are confident that you will be happy with the purchase.

I am 5 feet tall and I can use this crib, although the lowest setting of the base is almost too low for me. With the lowest setting I had to stand on my tiptoes to reach in to get my daughter. I just reset the base to the next level up and it is much better.

I'm 5'1" and the newborn stage is easy enough to reach into...once we have to use the other stages, I am hoping he'll be standing to help get him out. It may be tough laying him down in it though.

No it doesnt. But it's not hard to reach into.

It's not hard to reach in at all, but I love the fact that the base board can be adjusted to whichever heighth you want it to be at.
