These pasta machines do not require any large amount of stress on their handles. A child can hold one in place while it's in use. The clamp will hold it still enough to use, you do not need a big one to hold pasta machines down.

I've never had a problem with the handle coming off and I attach my pasta maker to either my slide-out bread board or the center of my table when I pull it out to add leaves. The clamp fits well on an inch thickness, may go thicker as well.

The handle will fall out of the slot that it sits in when rolling out noodles. It is the only aggravating thing about it. Once you get used to it the problem solves itself as you get used to it. you will keep pushing it in. And its not a clamp that holds it. Just a old fashioned key type slot

don't roll to fast, in otherwords, don't get in a hurry. take youjr time. the handle should Not come off unless you work it to hard.

the clamp is stout and clamps very well with a proper edge. Most kitchen counters have too narrow of an edge, but I clamp above the dishwasher with the door open slightly to give room for the clamp. The handle does not lock and will slip out if you don't push in slightly while rolling. after a few tries you will have no problems.

As long as your not "pulling out" on the crank while rolling, it wont fall off.

yes it will. i used to make my noodles by hand also, this is much easier

With the extra cutter that comes with the roller they are like fetticini noodles. I made them using my normal noodle recipe like you I have made them for years. This machine works great for fetticini noodles.

you can go Real thinif you want, keep turning the meter down lower and lower. And there are no fancy edges,,,that you have to do yourself afterwards.

The supplied cutter does fettuccine and spaghetti. The fettuccine is close to the width you describe, somewhere between 1/4 - 3/8 inch wide. You can make them quite thin depending on the final setting of the rollers when rolling out the dough. 7 settings with 1 being the thinnest.

It makes the sheet of pasta that is used to make lasagna and ravioli, as well. But no, this will not make macaroni. You need a pasta press for that, to extrude pasta through shaped dies.

No it does not do macaroni or anyother tube pasta. There is a tube machine at Weston Products.com which is the company that sells this pasta maker. They do have other attachments you can purchase also.

NO,only speg, lasagna, fettuchini. there are other parts to buy, but don't think they roll out Thick dough.

This machine does not make macaroni. only for flat, cut pasta.

Bought this to make confetti. It worked great!! The angel hair pasta side came out a little to small for what I wanted but the other side made the perfect size confetti for Cascarones this Easter. I haven't used it for anything other than this but I have the feeling I will try other things. Very sturdy and well made product.

Roma 6" Traditional Pasta Machine

The machine is easy to use; instructions easy to understand; better than expected. I have made my own noodles for nearly 50 years and never did as well as I did with one try on the Roma Pasta Machine. Am looking forward to making phyllo strips for turnovers soon. The price is right too which made it easy to make a decision. My local WalMart had it for me in just a couple of days. Thanks for a good product and a local outlet to get it without paying shipping.

Never tasted a better noodle

My sister teaches cooking classes in California and we live in Tennessee. When I was there visiting we did a cooking class that used this item so I made sure I got one to be at our home. Very well-made solid and I love how it attaches to a counter.

Best bang for the buck.
Prepped 2 cups of flour with water as cleaning dough.
Once i cleaned it very well, it rolled and cut cleanly.
I'm still on practice mode with it, testing and cooking dough consistency in different ways.
So far, i haven't encountered any problem.
I like it.

A weeks worth

My first attempt at homemade noodles- so easy to use and clean. Love the clamp so it can go on side of table to cracnk it.

With many possible choices of pasta machines, the price of the Roma got my attention when considering to try out one of the machines for making my own wholewheat pasta. I have been very pleased with the results and find the Roma far better than I expected. I rated the durability 5 of 5 due to the feel and overall construction, and time alone will tell if this is an accurate rating. This machine has made pasta making fun and much quicker than hand-made, which is ok too, but not if lacking adequate time or needing a larger amount. I'm still perfecting the whole wheat recipe, but I think I'm close. The handle crank will fall out since it does not lock in place, but one simply needs to press inward while cranking to avoid this. The clamp holds very well and the machine is solid and stable while working with it. Follow the clear directions and you will enjoy the experience as I have.

Roma pasta machine

Easiest product I've ever seen. Easy, understandable instructions. Made my first batch of noodles the day I recieved it. Took the leftovers to work for lunch the following day. (Happened to be 4th of July weekend). I ended up making noodles the whole weekend for people at work. I loved it, and they loved it.

Unbelievably Easy

So far it seems to work fine. The spaghetti noodle cutter seems to cut slightly thinner spaghetti, but that is a preference, not a complaint. This machine has machine oil in the gears. You must run some throwaway pasta dough through the machine a couple of times to clean out the oil. Also I wish they provided a stiff brush to clean out the cutters.

Works as expected

Have only just gotten this product but it seems to be of good quality and made with heavy, solid materials. Have not been able to use it as of yet but can't wait to start. Will be using it with polymer clay. Hope it will last for many years. Good for the money paid.

Solid material

This pasta machine could be excellent with one fix. The C clamp hole on the machine is three times too big for the C clamp. This makes the machine come off the counter when in use. The price is great and works properly except for this flaw.
