OMG, THIS JUST MADE THIS HELL-SUMMER MORE TOLERABLE, EVEN SURVIVABLE!
DO I love the look of it, just hanging there on my porch or in front of our windows, like a forlorn, limp, used dish-rag? Of course I don't, especially since we could not find clips that are lighter in colour & match the grey fabric better. What I do LOVE, tho, is the fact that screening the porch with this INSTANTLY lowered the temp on it by about 10F, while still installing; then, when fully installed, it now consistently drops the temp by about 20 INSIDE the house's front entrance, and about 20-25 (depending on the heat outside) in the big bay window where my plants are & 5 parrots roam: NO MORE BAKED COCKATOO OR AMAZON! =DThe other room with a small window also has much reduced temp, to the point that when it was 114F outside a couple weeks ago it 'only' registered 95 at the window's glass with the window open, and then dropped to 90 when I closed the window. That's a huge difference in QOL (Quality of Life), as well in energy efficiency & electricity savings for our small room ACsWhy did we not do better looking awning-style ones, and screened the porch permanently, & just hung them there like this? Because we will be replacing siding & windows soon & painting everything anew, & there was no point creating / buying expensive units when they'll have to be changed to match the whole laterRight now, the front porch one is set on a cord so it can slide for entering, opening / closing, the window ones are just hanging from the eaves with those UGH-cringe clips (SEE PICTURE)The large roll was way cheaper to buy than the equivalent smaller pieces needed for this set-up. Will use the half that's still left later probably to create shade frames some of the garden plants that are getting beat by this increasing PNW relentless summer heatDO NOT LOVE that there are no clips nor the 'sewing' cord for creating neater edges anywhere, including at the manufacturer's website that match the various colours of shade offered: you can have black, black, or even light black (supposedly the clips we bought were listed as grey: they are just a 'light black; really, not grey at all, as you can see from pictures)Overall, I highly recommend Colaroo's material for QUALITY vs quantity vs cost . Looked at many, many others, and none compared or even came close to competing for quality. There are some cheaper, but not for a 90% UV protection that is also available in colours other than UGLY GREEN & the incomparable UGLIER BROWN. If you are creating your own shade-wings, awnings, screened porch, this is the way to do it. If you are creating a permanent set-up, there are ways to attach the material to the porch or frames that is not so fugly as what we did: it was just not worth it doing so for us at this time

This is the third time I've installed shade cloth on my pergola on my back porch. The other two times the product was decent but not as good as this. This is thicker, better quality, and a higher UV Sun blocking ratio. I bet this will last for years with no problems! It is not hard to install just takes a little bit of time maybe an extra person to help. Has cut the heat and the Sun significantly it's a difference between night and day LOL. I know my plants are going to love it and I know my doggies do too because they can stay outside longer without being on broil in the south Georgia heat ☀️😍

5.0 out of 5 stars Great price! High quality!
Reviewed in the United States on June 30, 2023
Fabric is very sturdy and light filtering. I used it in my craft room which has 6' windows on all sides and faces east. Heat, AZ style, was greatly reduced. I am a seamstress, so cutting and fitting to the windows was not difficult. I chose to finish the side edges by just finger-folding back a half inch and using my glue gun to create a smooth edge where I had cut. I added a channel at the top and bottom of each panel in the same way and used a slat from an old vertical blind for stability. This room can not have a traditional curtain rod so we installed eye rings and I used zip ties which easily penetrated the fabric to secure the panels.

I was replacing old lattice that had regular screen behind it for stopping bugs and debris from getting under deck. Old screen was ugly! lattice was falling apart. Bought decorative panels but wanted something decent looking behind that still stop anything from getting under. Figured this could work. Cut this fabric to height I needed and 4 ft lengths so was easy to manage. Cut easy with scissors. Stapled it up. Pulled it taut as I went along, and the creases some mentioned did go away. Has just a bit more of a yellow rather than beige tint to it than Amazon pic shows. Which worked out to be better colour for me, matches my siding. Screwed panels on top and Voila! I love the end look. Nice contrast with the black panels. Seems to breathe okay, but under my deck is asphalt so that wasn't too much of concern for me. Now thinking when I redo balusters, putting this on to help with privacy for part that can be seen from laneway. Had compliments on it from guests saying looks good and where I got it, they liked the part when I said how much it only cost LOL I would recommend this for sure.
